The Choice character was created in 1997 with emphasis on supporting the aims and objectives of a program model to reshape the lives of disadvantaged Australians and people experiencing hardship.
The vision for the Choice character upon inception is to:
- Increase the awareness of healthy choice making, positive thinking and responsible behaviour via public education campaigns including TV commercials, posters, stickers, flyers and swap cards
- Encourage children & young people to adopt the concept of healthy choice making, positive thinking and responsible behaviour via school presentations & theatrics
- Create an avenue for government, local business, private sector and corporate Australians to invest in Choice and become associated with the positive messages and vision
Since 1997, the Choice character has been linked to community based non-profit organisations, Choice Awareness Program, Choice Community Education, Choice Education Services and since November 2002 (Choice Australia Management Ltd). Over time the partnerships have developed a positive sub culture around the concept of healthy choice making, positive thinking and responsible behaviour. This is evidenced by the delivery of no fewer than 170 funded programs, projects, activities, school presentations and high exposure public education campaigns.
Based on the variety of local, regional, state and national concerns, interested parties can use the Choice character to achieve and/or increase the awareness of their charters and agendas.
The Choice character and image can be used (but not limited to) in the following formats:
- TV commercials, live animated or character suit and TV shows, cartoons, cartoon strips
- Posters, stickers, flyers, swap cards, billboards
- School presentations & theatrics and guest appearances
- Water by CHOICE products
- Merchandise, caps, t-shirts, hats
Individual negotiation will determine what works and what it costs for interested partners. Choice Australia Management sees many benefits in working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders to increase the wellbeing of Australians and address some of the local, regional, state and national concerns.
