The Innisfail operation began in earnest in May 2006 with the introduction of the Choice Aussie Spirit Project, a 330+ person employment and training project supporting people displaced as a result of Cyclone Larry.

Later in 2006, the Queensland Department of Communities funded the Choices for our Futures program from a regional Youth Crime Prevention grant for 3 years.

Innisfail continues to attract support from the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations via labour market program opportunities for disadvantaged jobseekers and in May 2007, the Queensland Department of Employment & Industrial Relations funded the Living after Larry Project. (A 54 person 26 week employment and training project for people still displaced by Cyclone Larry).

The Innisfail site has a lot of potential in that many concerns still exist from Cyclone Larry, whilst the number of people that require employment and training support continues to grow.
