Training
Funding By: Commonwealth Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. and coordinated by: Quality Industry Training and Employment.

Participants will develop a publication informing Atherton residents of pet care (with emphasis on dog care), dog training and control tips and the legal responsibilities of dog owners.

Participants will gather information, such as a full list of veterinarians, dog training schools, dog shelters and homes, kennels, specialised pet shops, etc. They will research facts about dog sizes, and appropriate yards and exercise regimes for the dogs, food groups, attitudes of dogs, etc.

Participants will include the above data with information and expert advice from community and local government organisations, pet care experts and veterinarians and collate the information in an easy to follow community resource publication for dissemination to the wider public through the services mentioned.

The project will heighten community awareness regarding the responsibilities of dog ownership and care of dogs in general. Accordingly, the community will benefit with information to enable dog owners to achieve just that.
